Exemptions for therapeutic purposes
Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) allow athletes to use certain substances and/or methods from the Prohibited List for the current year, for the purpose of treating certain diseases and medical conditions.
The use of prohibited substances and/or methods on the Prohibited List, i.e. a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), may be granted when there is a clear and necessary medical need (indication).
Therapeutic use exemptions are regulated by the International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions.
The granting of TUEs is carried out in accordance with the WADA International Standard for Therapeutic Use Exemptions, the Anti-Doping Rules of Montenegro, the Commission's Therapeutic Use Exemptions Regulations, and the Prohibited List.
Application for a therapeutic exemption is made through the Form for therapeutic exemptions.
