Doping control

Doping controls of athletes for the presence of substances that are prohibited due to their properties to enhance sports performance in an unethical manner, violating fair play and the integrity of sport, are a way of promoting clean sport and the spirit of competition. Doping controls can be carried out in competition, as well as out of competition. The doping control procedure is precisely regulated. Certain athletes must provide their location information in order to be available for out-of-competition doping controls.

An active part of the fight against doping is the doping controller. The doping controller plays a vital role during doping control and the process of collecting an athlete's sample. In order to ensure good and consistent quality of work, systematic training of controllers and monitors is required, along with accreditation, following the WADA International Standard for Testing and Investigations. Doping controllers are extremely important for protecting the right of every athlete to compete in doping-free sport.

Anti-doping rules are presented in the WADA Code, and as such accepted in Montenegro. The WADA Code ensures that all athletes are observed through the same rules and standards during testing in order to harmonize the process between anti-doping organizations around the world.
